The Mt. San Antonio College
Associated Students is the student government organization
on campus, composed of all students holding a valid College
Services Card. The AS is recognized as the official student
voice on all College issues.
The AS Executive Board
and Senate represent the needs of all students. Elected
each Spring, the Executive Board makes policy recommendations
to the College, based on student interest and perspectives.
Senators are appointed by the Senate.
The Executive Board and
Senate are authorized to allocate funds from the College
Service fee paid by students. These funds are distributed
to a variety of College programs and organizations to
help provide cultural, educational and recreational programs.
Students who participate
in AS benefit from prime leadership opportunities and
learn the practical inner-workings, responsibilities and
accountabilities associated with local government. As
one student put it, “Student government gives you
the opportunity to learn skills and get an education outside
of the classroom.”
