below are the documents required
by Mt. San Antonio college for
the academic year. The Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
is required when applying for Federal
and State Funding. Students who
received a Renewal FAFSA may complete
it rather than a new FAFSA. |

Students
must REAPPLY EACH ACADEMIC
YEAR for financial aid. Documents
required to be filed for all
students are as follows:

*FAFSA: You will be submitting
the original FAFSA application
or a renewal application online
at www.fafsa.ed.gov (apply
with your name exactly as
it appears on your social
security card). In order to
be a priority student your
FAFSA Application must be
processed by April 15.
IMPORTANT: The following documents
must be submitted to the Financial
Aid Office:

Budget/Supplemental
Information Sheet.
Copy of your I.D. card with picture
(You provide the copy) |

Non-Citizens:
Alien Registration Card - recent
issue (if you are a non-citizen).
A copy of both front and back.

- File an Admissions application
if you are not a current
student. Indicate
your Major. A
Major listed as "Undecided" or "General
Interest"
is not an eligible Major
for Financial Aid. See
a counselor to update
your Major
- Notify Admissions and
Financial Aid of name
and/or address changes
immediately.
- Apply early. If you wait
to submit your forms
you may encounter long
lines and lengthy waiting
periods.
- Attend a Financial Aid
Seminar on Campus to
assist you in completing
your application.

Assurance Institution with
the Department of Education.
If you are selected as a verification
student, we will contact you
for additional documentation
that you MUST provide. Such
information may include tax
returns. Untaxed income verification,
enrollment verification of
other family members, etc.
and a verification worksheet.

If
you are selected as a Verification
Student and
you are a Dependent Student,
you will be required to turn
in the following documents:
- Copy of Student's
Federal 1040 and W-2s
for 2002
- Copy of Parent's Federal
1040 and W-2s for 2002
- Verification of Untaxed
Income
- Dependent Verification
Work Sheet
- Copy of Student/Spouse

| There
may be additional paperwork which
may be required. Respond
to any request for additional documents
A.S.A.P. to avoid delaying the
processing of your Financial Aid
file. Once
your Financial Aid file is complete,
you will receive an award letter
in the mail. The
award letter will list all aid
awarded for the academic year. (Click
here to see sample Award Letter) Along
with the award letter, you will
be sent an Award Authorization
Sheet explaining the award process. |

Once
you have received your Award
Letter and you are interested
in applying for a student
loan, call the Financial Aid
Office at Extension 4450 and
sign-up for an Entrance Counseling
Session. These
one hour sessions are mandatory
for student loans and are
offered once per month. You
will receive all necessary
loan requisition forms at
this session and have all
your questions answered.

| Once
you have attended a loan session
and completed and submitted all
required documents, it is approximately
a 4 to 6 week process before loan
funds are disbursed, if your loan
is approved. |
