Mt. SAC Scholarship Program

Application materials for the 2009-2010 Mt. SAC Scholarship Program competition will be available in late 2008 and will be due in mid-March 2009. In addition to administering the Mt. SAC Scholarship Program, the Scholarship Program Office also assists students with:

  • Researching Scholarship Opportunities
  • Scholarship Application Assistance
  • Scholarship Personal Essay Advisement
  • Scholarship Workshops/Presentations

CCCSFAAA $500 SCHOLARSHIP

Sponsored by the California Community Colleges Student Financial Aid Administrators Association (CCCSFAAA), the CCCSFAAA Scholarship is currently offering twenty (20) $500 awards statewide. Mt. SAC will nominate two (2) students to be considered for this opportunity at the state level. To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be attending Mt. SAC in fall 2008
  • Be a California resident; and
  • Have remaining financial need.

NOTE: Preference will be given to applicants who have overcome unusual hardships.

Complete the “2008 CCCSFAAA Student Scholarship” application and turn it in to Mt. SAC’s Scholarship Program Office by October 10, 2008 (4:30 p.m.). Selections will be made by November 1, 2008. Awards will be paid out during December 2008.

REAL ESTATE ENDOWMENT FUND $800 SCHOLARSHIP

The Chancellor’s Office is pleased to announce the availability of the 2008-09 Real Estate Endowment Fund Scholarship for community college students. These awards are available for academically able students who need financial assistance to help meet costs related to enrollment in community college real estate education programs. Eligible students are those majoring in Real Estate.

Maximum scholarship awards are $400 each semester, not to exceed $800 for the academic year. Awards may be given to part-time and full-time students who have completed at least one college-level real estate course with a grade of C (2.0) or better prior to applying for the scholarship.

Complete the 2008-09 Community College Real Estate Education Endowment Fund Scholarship Application” and turn it in to Mt. SAC’s Scholarship Program Office by October 31, 2008 (4:30 p.m.) for priority consideration. Applications will be accepted through March 16, 2009 pending availability of funding. Due to the limited amount of awards available for the 2008-09 academic year, please be advised that the Chancellor’s Office will fund the Real Estate Scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis. Consequently, based upon the number of scholarship applicants recommended for awards, funding most likely will be exhausted prior to the arrival of the 3/16/09 deadline date.

Associated Students Book Scholarship Program

Funded by the Associated Students, the AS Book Scholarship offers up to $250 for assistance with books. To be eligible, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
  • Have no more than 60 units completed
  • Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or be a first time college student
  • Be clear of all financial obligations to Mt. SAC
  • Have a financial aid application on file at Mt. SAC and be determined to have unmet need
  • Have paid the Student Activities Fee for the current semester

Awards will be given to qualified students on a first-come first-serve basis until all funds are exhausted. Priority will be given to students ineligible for a Pell Grant. Funding is available for only the fall and spring semesters. Applications for fall 2008 will be available August 1, 2008 and are due September 8, 2008. Applications for Spring 2009 will be available February 2, 2009 and are due March 16, 2009.
