Veterans Benefits — Veterans Procedures

  1. ADMISSIONS APPLICATION: Complete and file an admissions application. If English courses have been completed, submit unofficial transcripts.
  2. ASSESSMENT TEST: Test taken at Assessment Center. Mt. SAC will accept ACT tests if taken within last two years.
  3. MANDATORY ORIENTATION: Make an appointment with Counseling. You must have test results. Must be completed prior to registering.
  4. ADVISING CENTER: Help with choosing classes. Must have test results. Counselor referral if needed.
  5. REGISTRATION: Permit will be mailed. Register by phone on or after permit date. Have 5 working days to pay fees at Bursar's Office.
  6. PRIOR TRANSCRIPTS: Send for all transcripts. Include all foreign transcripts even though they are not required by the school. When sealed transcripts are received, bring them to our office for a white control card. Take control card and sealed transcripts to Admissions for evaluation.
  7. EDUCATIONAL PLAN: Complete ED Plan during first semester after transcripts are evaluated. See an advisor in the Advising Center.
  8. VA BENEFITS APPLICATION: Apply for VA benefits after you register. If eligible for advanced pay, see the Veteran's Office.
