Student Club Web Sites |
| Mt. SAC offers active student clubs free web hosting services for student club web sites. Eligible clubs can host web sites on the Mt. SAC web server at no cost to the club. If your club already has a web site hosted on another server, you can transfer your club's site to the Mt. SAC server. |
| If your club is thinking about hosting a web presence on the Mt. SAC web server, here are some things you need to know: |
- Select a Designer – Your club should choose a web designer to design your web pages. Mt. SAC does not provide support for web design.
- Review Web Site Standards – The web designer needs to understand the hosting server requirements as well as college standards and guidelines. These are available at http://www.mtsac.edu/websupport/.
- Request A Host Account – When your club’s web designer is ready to upload pages to the host server, it’s time to request a host account and access to the server. Your web designer should fill out the online form, which is provided to make this process simple.
- When filling out the online Access request form, enter the following information:
- In the Division/Dept. name field, select "student life"
- In the Faculty Advisor field, enter your advisor's name, e-mail address, and phone number. The account will not be processed without this correct information
- Submit the form, and your club's advisor will receive a copy. If approved, the account will be created and a reply sent to the requestor with the account information
|
| After the club advisor approves the request, an account and web host space on the Mt. SAC web server will be created and a confirmation e-mail message will be sent to the applicant and the club advisor. The message will include instructions for uploading the web page files to the server. |
| NOTE: Mt. SAC cannot provide support for developing or maintaing a club's web pages. If the applicant needs assistance accessing the web server or uploading files to the server or if the web pages are not displaying properly, then the club web designer or the club advisor can contacr the Webmaster to ask for assistance. |
